Pi Day 21 Puzzle 5

UPDATED 3/19 to fix an error: the first and last squares of 17 across were coded incorrectly on the spreadsheet version. They will now display as yellow (3855) instead of brown or golden brown. 

Number people, step aside! It's time for the wordsmiths to take the stage!

Today's puzzle is a crossword: it has both a printable PDF version and a spreadsheet version (for if you'd rather type in your answers). You can do the bulk of the solving in either one, but if you solve it in the PDF version you'll need to input your answer into the spreadsheet afterwards to reveal the full, stitchable pattern.

There is also a PDF with backstitching instructions included here; don't open it until you've solved the crossword, though! It'll spoil the design.
